Steam Cooking Fest Starts October 12: What Philippine Players Should Know
Steam is preparing a week of cooking and food-themed games. Here is the official schedule, what the event covers and why sale prices should wait until launch.

Steam's next themed event is for people who would rather run a virtual kitchen than win a firefight. Cooking Fest is scheduled for October 12 through October 19, 2026, according to Valve's official Steamworks calendar. The event follows the October 1–8 Autumn Sale, but it is a different promotion with a narrower focus.
For Philippine PC players, the useful detail is the theme rather than a speculative list of discounts. Valve describes Cooking Fest as a spotlight for games about cooking, feeding people and related activities. That can include restaurant management, hectic co-op kitchens, culinary puzzles and slower-paced food preparation games.
What is confirmed before launch
Valve's event calendar confirms the October 12–19 window. Its guidance for themed festivals says discounted games are prioritized in the event presentation, but free titles, upcoming games and titles with demos can also participate. That means the page is worth browsing even if you are not planning to buy anything.
At the time of writing, the festival has not begun. A game's presence in the genre does not establish that it will be discounted, and no sitewide percentage-off figure has been announced. Avoid treating a wishlist item as a deal until its actual Steam Philippines checkout price is visible.
A new game arriving alongside the event
One timely example is Dinerz, which has an October 12 release date on its Steam store page. Developer Deep Loop Gaming and publisher PlayWay describe a diner-management game about cooking orders, serving customers, unlocking ingredients and managing a growing operation. The store listing advertises single-player play and online co-op for up to four players.
Dinerz is a scheduled release, not a confirmed Cooking Fest discount. Its page currently lists a release date rather than a verified local launch price. That distinction matters if you are preparing a shopping list before the event goes live.
How to shop the event without wasting money
Start by checking the Cooking Fest page once Steam makes it live. Open the store while signed into your Philippine account so prices are displayed in pesos. Compare the current PHP price with the game's recent historical pricing if you use a trusted price-history service, and check whether the offer is for the base game, an edition or a bundle.
A demo is often the better first move for unfamiliar games. Food-themed titles vary widely: some are reflex-heavy co-op challenges, others are methodical simulations, and some are mostly narrative. A short test can reveal whether the controls, pace and multiplayer features suit you before spending money.
If a game lists online co-op, check whether all players need their own copy and whether the description specifies local or online multiplayer. Steam Deck owners should also look at each game's compatibility status rather than assuming that a cozy visual style guarantees handheld support.
The next event is already on the calendar
Steam Next Fest is scheduled for October 19–26, immediately after Cooking Fest. That later event focuses on upcoming games and playable demos, not necessarily the same food-themed titles. There is no need to rush into purchases simply because the next promotional page will follow.
For now, the dates are confirmed and the individual deals are not. We will only call out Philippine peso discounts once they can be checked against live Steam listings. See Valve's official 2026 event calendar and the Dinerz store page for the primary information.
