Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Buds On, the company first clip on wireless earbuds in the Galaxy Buds family.

Unlike traditional in ear earbuds, the Buds On use an open ear design that sits around the outer ear and leaves the ear canal unobstructed.

Samsung will release the Galaxy Buds On first in South Korea on October 27, 2026 for 299,000 won. Using October 5 exchange rates, that is approximately ₱13,927 (US$222).

Samsung says a wider global rollout will follow, but Philippine pricing and availability have not been announced.

Samsung enters the clip on earbud category

The biggest change is the form factor.

Galaxy Buds On use a clip style design intended to distribute pressure across a wider area of the ear. Samsung says it analyzed different ear shapes and fit simulations to optimize the placement of the speaker and battery.

Because the earbuds do not block the ear canal, they are designed for situations where users want to hear music while remaining aware of surrounding sounds.

That makes them a different product category from Samsung sealed in ear Galaxy Buds models.

TwinBoost audio and automatic volume adjustment

Samsung uses a TwinBoost Speaker system to improve low frequency output.

The earbuds can also adjust volume automatically based on the surrounding environment.

Samsung has added an Audio Leakage Reduction feature designed to reduce how much sound escapes into the surrounding area. The company notes that some leakage can still occur depending on ear shape, playback volume, fit, and environmental noise.

Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform

The Buds On use the Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform with a Class D amplifier.

Samsung rates the earbuds for up to 9.5 hours of continuous music playback on a single charge.

Real battery life will vary depending on volume, connectivity, features in use, and other conditions.

Call quality uses three microphones and a vibration sensor

For voice calls, each Buds On setup uses three microphones together with a bone conduction based Voice Pickup Unit sensor.

Samsung says machine learning separates the user voice from background noise to improve clarity in environments with wind or other strong ambient sounds.

Galaxy AI and Gemini Live support

When connected to a compatible Galaxy AI smartphone or tablet, Galaxy Buds On support hands free features such as voice interaction, memo recording, and notification access.

Users can launch Gemini Live by voice on supported devices.

Samsung also supports Quick Voice Memo and head gestures. Head movement can be used for actions such as answering or ending calls, dismissing alarms, and interacting with message notifications.

Korea gets them first

Samsung will launch Galaxy Buds On in South Korea on October 27 in black.

The official Korean price is 299,000 won.

Using October 5, 2026 currency rates, that works out to about ₱13,927 (US$222). That conversion is only a reference and should not be treated as a Philippine retail price.

Samsung says global availability will follow in stages.

Should Philippine buyers wait?

There is no confirmed Philippine release date or local price yet.

For now, the Galaxy Buds On are most interesting as Samsung entry into the growing open ear clip on category.

The design should appeal most to users who prioritize comfort and awareness of their surroundings over the stronger passive isolation of sealed in ear earbuds.

A proper recommendation will depend on local pricing and independent tests of comfort, leakage, call quality, sound quality, and battery life.
