PlayStation Plus monthly games for October are available today, giving subscribers a three game lineup that spans racing, extraction horror and co-op action.

Sony's official October selection includes F1 25 for PlayStation 5, Hunt Showdown 1896 for PlayStation 5 and Earth Defense Force World Brothers 2 for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

All three games are available to PlayStation Plus members from Tuesday, October 6 until Monday, November 2.

F1 25 leads the lineup

The biggest headliner this month is F1 25.

Sony describes it as the official video game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship, with single player modes like Career and My Team 2.0. It is the kind of sports release that easily anchors a monthly subscription bundle because it offers a polished solo experience and a lot of replay value.

Hunt Showdown 1896 adds tension

The second game, Hunt Showdown 1896, shifts the mood completely.

It drops players into tense PvPvE matches built around monsters, rival hunters and high stakes extraction gameplay. For players who want something slower, more tactical and more punishing than a traditional shooter, Hunt Showdown 1896 is the most distinct game in the lineup.

Earth Defense Force World Brothers 2 rounds it out

The third title is Earth Defense Force World Brothers 2.

Sony says this entry brings the block shaped World Brothers spin on the Earth Defense Force formula, with large scale enemy battles and co-op focused action. It gives the monthly selection a lighter and more chaotic multiplayer option.

Availability window matters

If you are a PlayStation Plus member, the most important detail is timing.

Sony says these monthly games are playable from October 6 through November 2. As always, that means members should claim them during the availability window so the games stay in their library while their subscription remains active.

A balanced October offering

This month is not built around one genre.

Instead, the October selection spreads across motorsport, extraction shooter tension and arcade style co-op destruction. That makes it a stronger lineup for players who like variety rather than three similar games.

The clean takeaway

If you have an active PlayStation Plus subscription, October is a good month to check in.

F1 25 gives the lineup a major sports release, Hunt Showdown 1896 adds something intense and competitive, and Earth Defense Force World Brothers 2 brings colorful co-op action to round everything out.
