Peak Climbs to PS5 on October 22 With Crossplay Co-Op
The cooperative mountain-survival game reaches PlayStation 5 with its existing biomes, items and updates, plus cross-platform climbing for groups of up to four.

The cooperative climbing game Peak is coming to PlayStation 5 on October 22, 2026, giving console players a new way to join the game's precarious group expeditions. Developer Team Peak, a collaboration between Aggro Crab and Landfall, says the PS5 version will include the content updates, biomes and items released since the game's original launch. Most importantly for a co-op title, the launch also adds crossplay, allowing a player to climb with up to three friends on other supported platforms.
Peak's hook is simple to explain and harder to master: a group of lost scouts must reach the top of a mysterious island's central mountain to have any hope of rescue. The challenge comes from managing the climb as a team. A mistake can injure a scout, reduce stamina and make the next section harder, so a route that looks easy for one player can become a rescue mission for the whole group.
What makes Peak different from a standard climbing game?
The game is built around cooperation and shared risk rather than a solitary race to the summit. Players need to help one another over ledges, decide when to use supplies and avoid hazards while progressing through four biomes. Food is scavenged rather than neatly supplied, injuries can limit stamina, and environmental threats include hazards such as tornadoes, poison clouds, birds and zombies.
Runs can also be adjusted with custom settings, so a group can tune the experience to suit its appetite for chaos. That is useful for friends who want a relaxed evening climb as well as teams who prefer a punishing challenge. The result is a game where communication and improvisation can matter as much as careful movement.
PS5 adds crossplay, not a separate version of the game
Team Peak says the PlayStation 5 edition will include the updates, biomes and items added since the game's initial release. The studio also confirmed that crossplay will let PS5 players climb with up to three friends regardless of which supported platform they use. That means the maximum group size is four players, counting the person playing on PS5.
Crossplay is a meaningful addition because co-op games often lose momentum when a friend group is split across platforms. With the PS5 launch, existing players can invite PlayStation friends instead of waiting for everyone to buy the same hardware. The announcement does not describe a separate PlayStation-only mode or a different progression structure, so the practical focus is on bringing another platform into the same shared climb.
Why the game's origin story fits its design
The developers say Peak began as a one-month game jam in Seoul in February 2025. Three developers from Aggro Crab and four from Landfall worked together in a rented apartment, then returned to the project after each studio had progressed on other work. That small collaborative beginning mirrors the final game's emphasis on friends trying to solve a problem together, often through trial, error and improvised teamwork.
The two studios have different but complementary histories. Aggro Crab is known for Another Crab's Treasure and Going Under, while Landfall developed Content Warning, Haste and Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. Peak brings together their interest in playful systems and situations that can turn unexpectedly chaotic.
What Filipino players should check before launch
The official PlayStation announcement confirms the October 22 date but does not state a Philippine price or a precise local unlock time. Check the Philippine PlayStation Store listing close to launch for the final price, local availability and any account or subscription requirements. Do not assume a price quoted for another country will match the local store.
If your usual group includes PC and console players, the main detail to remember is crossplay for up to four scouts. It should make organising a session easier, but each player should still check that the game is updated and that their platform's online settings allow multiplayer. The official post does not provide a detailed troubleshooting guide, so platform-specific issues should be checked against the game's current support information.
Peak is not about reaching the summit as quickly as possible. It is about whether the group can keep moving when a rope slips, someone runs out of stamina or the mountain throws a new hazard at the team. The PS5 release broadens that shared challenge to another group of players on October 22.
