Spec IV Part 1 adds new vehicles, World Circuit events and a Japanese track, while a 30th-anniversary DualSense controller is on the way.

Gran Turismo 7 has a substantial new reason to return to the track. Sony's October 14 update details for Spec IV Part 1 add six vehicles, the Japanese Sportsland Sugo circuit, six new World Circuit events and additional ways to inspect and experience cars. The update is free for players, and its release window for Asia was listed as October 15 at 3 p.m. Japan time in the official PlayStation announcement.
The update matters because it combines new cars with a new circuit and more structured events, rather than relying on a single headline vehicle. The timing also coincides with the franchise's 30th anniversary, which Sony is marking with a limited-edition DualSense controller.
The six cars in Spec IV Part 1
Sony's announcement names six additions across different eras and uses:
- Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo: a futuristic electric hypercar designed around aerodynamic airflow and downforce.
- Ferrari F355 Berlinetta '94: a mid-engine sports car that represents the celebrated 1990s Ferrari era.
- Honda Civic Si Group A '87: a touring-car racer based on the Mugen Motul Civic from Japanese motorsport.
- Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo '26: a modern racing concept inspired by Mazda's rotary-engine heritage.
- Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line '23: a family minivan that gives the garage something very different from the usual track-focused additions.
- Citroën 2 CV 6 Charleston '86: a classic, practical French car with a distinctive design and a long production history.
The variety is part of the appeal. The Xiaomi concept offers an opportunity to explore a contemporary electric hypercar, while the older Ferrari and Honda models connect the update to real motorsport and road-car history. The Step WGN and 2 CV also show that Gran Turismo's collecting side is not limited to the fastest machinery.
Sportsland Sugo is the other major addition
The update brings Sportsland Sugo, a real Japanese circuit known for a compact layout, elevation changes and flowing corners. It gives players a new track on which to learn braking points and test car balance. Sony also lists six new World Circuit events, new Scapes locations, added Car Viewer features and an Experience mode among the update's additions.
For players returning after a break, it is worth checking the game's update notes before heading straight into a race. The new circuit and events are the clearest starting points, while the expanded car-viewing and photo features give collectors another reason to spend time outside a championship.
A 30th-anniversary DualSense is coming in December
Sony also revealed the DualSense Wireless Controller, Gran Turismo Limited Edition. The design uses racing stripes and motorsport-inspired graphics, with a textured carbon-fibre-style front plate. It is a separate hardware release, not a requirement for the free game update.
Sony lists a recommended retail price of about ₱4,972 (US$84.99), FX estimate only, using an illustrative exchange rate of ₱58.50 per US dollar. That is not an official Philippine retail price. Sony has not confirmed local pricing in the announcement. Pre-orders are scheduled to begin October 22 at 10 a.m. local time through participating retailers and PlayStation Direct where available, with the controller launching globally from December 10. Availability and final retailer pricing can vary by country.
What Filipino players should do
The Spec IV update itself is free, so players who already own Gran Turismo 7 do not need to budget for a paid expansion to try the new cars and circuit. Install the latest game update, then check the in-game World Circuits and car dealerships for the new content. Some vehicles are assigned to different in-game purchase locations, including Brand Central, Used Cars and Legend Cars.
For the limited controller, wait for a Philippine PlayStation Store or authorised retailer listing before treating any peso figure as confirmed. The global recommended price is useful for context, but import costs, local taxes and retailer margins can change the final amount.
The main takeaway is straightforward: Spec IV Part 1 expands the game for free, with enough variety in the vehicle list to appeal to collectors as well as competitive drivers. The anniversary controller is the separate item to watch if you want a physical keepsake from Gran Turismo's 30-year milestone.
