Dave the Diver Meets Subnautica 2 in New Early-2027 Crossover DLC

MINTROCKET is sending Dave to the alien ocean moon Proteus. The Steam wishlist is live, but pricing and an exact release date remain unannounced.

MINTROCKET has revealed a new crossover for DAVE THE DIVER, and this time the destination is much farther from the familiar Blue Hole. Announced on October 8, 2026, the Subnautica 2 Content Pack will send Dave into the ocean moon Proteus, a setting associated with the upcoming underwater survival game. The developer says the add-on is headed to Steam in early 2027, although its store page has not yet posted an exact release date.

For Filipino PC players, the practical news is straightforward: this is additional content for the existing DAVE THE DIVER game, not a standalone copy of Subnautica 2. You can wishlist the crossover on Steam now, but the content is not available to play yet.

What MINTROCKET has confirmed

The official October 8 announcement names Dave and Bancho and says their next adventure takes them to Proteus. The DLC store description promises unfamiliar marine life, resources to discover and surprises that may not all be friendly. It also hints at a visitor arriving in the Blue Hole before the journey begins.

That is the extent of the confirmed gameplay outline. The developer has not published a detailed mission list, an exact playtime, a final release day or a breakdown of which Subnautica 2 creatures will appear. The premise suggests that DAVE THE DIVER's playful exploration could be an unusual match for a more intimidating alien ocean, but it would be premature to describe particular encounters as playable features.

The crossover is especially interesting because the two games approach underwater exploration differently. DAVE THE DIVER is built around short dives, collecting seafood and returning to Bancho Sushi to run a restaurant. Subnautica is better known for survival, environmental discovery and the tension of venturing into unfamiliar depths. MINTROCKET is borrowing the setting rather than announcing a replacement for its core game.

Is this Subnautica 2 itself?

No. The Steam listing identifies the release as DAVE THE DIVER - Subnautica 2 Content Pack, developed and published by MINTROCKET. Steam explicitly states that the DAVE THE DIVER base game is required. A player buying or installing this pack should not expect to receive the separate Subnautica 2 game, its full survival systems or its own progression.

The distinction matters when comparing storefront pages or sharing the news on social media. A crossover can include locations, characters or ideas from another franchise without delivering that franchise's complete game. At this stage, the official description confirms Proteus and the new adventure, not the full scope of the collaboration.

The listing currently shows single-player DLC and includes Steam Cloud and Family Sharing among its listed features. It does not provide a final price. A genre tag on the page should not be treated as a promise that the content will be free; wait for a direct publisher announcement or a checkout price before making that claim.

Release window and Philippine availability

MINTROCKET's announcement says early 2027. The Steam product page still says the release date is to be announced. These statements are compatible: the first is a broad target, while the second means there is no locked storefront date. Neither is a reason to publish a specific day or month.

There is no confirmed Philippine peso price for the crossover as of October 11, 2026. Steam supports regional storefronts, so any future US-dollar price should not be presented as an official Philippine price without checking the local listing. Likewise, a wishlist button is not the same as a preorder or a purchase.

PC requirements on the content-pack page list Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i3 dual-core processor, 8 GB RAM and 10 GB of available storage as minimums, with higher recommended specifications. The page also lists macOS requirements. These are storefront specifications for the DLC listing, not independent performance test results, and requirements can change before launch.

The listed interface languages include English, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Thai, among others. Filipino is not among the languages displayed. The publisher also discloses that generative AI assists with localization and translation, while saying developers review and edit the localized text and that the game does not use AI-generated art, audio or live in-game generation.

A related Steam sale, but check the checkout

Alongside the crossover reveal, MINTROCKET announced an October 8 promotion for DAVE THE DIVER and several add-ons. The developer advertised 50% off the base game, 20% off the In the Jungle pack and 70% off Ichiban's Holiday, with the event running until October 16 at 2:00 AM Korean time. That is October 16 at 1:00 AM in the Philippines.

Those are advertised discount percentages, not a verified peso checkout price for every account. Steam discounts and regional prices should be checked directly in the Philippines before purchasing. There is no need to buy the upcoming crossover now, and the promotion does not establish what its eventual price will be.

What to watch next

The most useful next announcement would settle three questions: the exact release date, the price and whether the crossover includes any new restaurant mechanics alongside the Proteus expedition. A trailer showing gameplay rather than just the setting would also clarify how much of Subnautica 2's survival atmosphere fits into DAVE THE DIVER's existing rhythm.

Until then, the safe summary is that the collaboration is officially announced, the Steam wishlist is live, the base game is required, and the developer is targeting early 2027. Players who already own DAVE THE DIVER can follow the listing without making assumptions about the scope or cost of the pack.
