New Apple TV 4K Gets A19, AV1 and a ₱21,990 Philippine Price, but Siri AI Is Region-Limited
Apple announces a faster streaming box with a smarter remote and local pricing. Its headline Siri AI features are not listed for Philippine launch.

Apple's next Apple TV 4K has a confirmed Philippine price, and the biggest improvements go beyond picture quality. Announced October 13, 2026, the fourth-generation streaming box uses Apple's A19 chip, adds a dedicated AV1 decoder and introduces a more easily located remote. Apple's Philippine newsroom lists the device at ₱21,990 (approximately US$350.04 at the October 14 reference rate). That peso figure is Apple's official local price; the dollar equivalent is only a currency estimate.
There is a regional catch worth reading before ordering. The global launch makes a major feature of Siri AI, Apple's more conversational assistant for searching entertainment and controlling a home. Apple's international release lists its English-language beta at launch in the United States, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the United Kingdom. The Philippines is not on that initial list. Apple's local announcement emphasizes performance and smart-home control instead, and says the new box is coming soon, without giving a specific Philippine availability date.
What the A19 changes
Apple says the A19 delivers up to 50 percent faster CPU performance and up to twice the GPU performance of the previous Apple TV 4K. These are manufacturer comparisons, not independent benchmarks, but they suggest quicker navigation, more responsive app switching and greater headroom for games and animated interfaces.
A dedicated AV1 hardware decoder is another meaningful addition. AV1 is a modern video codec used to deliver high-quality video efficiently. Hardware decoding can help compatible streaming services use bandwidth more effectively, although the real benefit depends on whether a particular app and video title actually offer an AV1 stream. The new box does not automatically improve every film or every internet connection.
A remote that is harder to lose
The updated Apple TV Remote adds Find My support. Apple describes Precision Finding on supported combinations of iPhone and remote, plus an option to make the remote play a sound. Exact requirements vary by generation and phone model, so the headline feature should not be interpreted as universally available on every existing iPhone.
For everyday users, this may be a more tangible upgrade than a raw processor benchmark. A remote that can be located from a phone addresses a common living-room annoyance. Apple also says the new remote can be purchased separately and that compatibility extends to earlier Apple TV devices, subject to feature limitations.
Apple TV as a home hub
The fourth-generation device continues to support smart-home automations, compatible cameras and doorbells, and remote control of Apple Home accessories. Built-in Wi-Fi and Thread help it serve as a hub for supported devices. Apple also highlights a four-speaker surround-sound arrangement using compatible HomePod models, although the speakers are separate purchases.
For a Philippine household, accessory compatibility and app availability matter more than the phrase 'smart home' alone. A Thread-capable device still needs compatible accessories, and some services or live sports rights vary by country. A home full of non-Apple smart devices will not necessarily gain all the advertised integrations from adding the box.
What about Siri AI in the Philippines?
The global release describes voice search with follow-up questions, richer entertainment recommendations and hands-free interaction through far-field microphones. However, Apple's initial Siri AI beta country list does not include the Philippines. Local buyers should therefore treat those features as unavailable until Apple explicitly expands regional support, even if the physical hardware is sold locally.
This distinction also helps explain why international and Philippine marketing pages emphasize different capabilities. It would be misleading to promise the full global Siri AI experience on a locally purchased device on day one.
Should you upgrade?
If your current Apple TV 4K is working smoothly for streaming, the A19 alone may not justify an immediate replacement. The upgrade becomes more compelling if you want the new remote, improved AV1 handling, more performance headroom or a capable Apple Home hub. But if your main reason is conversational Siri AI, wait for a specific Philippine rollout announcement.
The official local price is ₱21,990 (approximately US$350.04, exchange-rate estimate), and Apple says Philippine availability is coming soon. Check Apple's Philippine announcement for local launch details rather than assuming the November 13 international release date applies to the country.
