Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve launches worldwide on October 2, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam.
Bandai Namco is positioning the game as both a cinematic campaign entry and the series' largest online multiplayer release so far. Cross-play lets pilots compete and cooperate across supported platforms.
The online mode includes an Air Base social lobby that can host up to 100 players. From there, players can matchmake, customize their avatars, access shops and launch multiplayer missions.
Two of the main online formats are Co-Op Assault and Co-Op Warfare. Co-Op Assault puts two teams of four into PvE missions where score determines the result, while Co-Op Warfare mixes player-versus-player combat with NPC units and shared battlefield threats.
Bandai Namco also plans rotating special missions and limited-time events. Season One includes both free and premium progression tracks, with cosmetic rewards, aircraft-related unlocks and other items distributed across the season.
Because seasonal rewards and online events can change over time, players interested in specific aircraft or cosmetics should verify the active season details in Bandai Namco's current announcements before purchasing a premium pass.
